Presentation of the European Project

PROSPERO EXTENDED THEATRE

October 9 h 11.00
Bologna, Arena del Sole

In this context of repeated political crises, which keeps on fragmenting our societies, nine European theatres* and a media, ARTE, have come together to show that art and culture are a powerful force capable of stimulating creativity, exchange and cohesion.

These “actors” believe that theatre, in particular, remains an essential place for dialogue, capable of creating real, direct, human encounters and of increasing our critical sense.

The presentation on the 9th of October will be the opportunity for them to talk about their collaboration, which currently takes the form of a four years project co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union: Prospero – Extended Theatre. The latter is structured around three activities:

– The production and touring of plays;

– The development of an OTT streaming platform dedicated to theatre;

– Audience development activities.

On the 9th of October at 11.00, the partners will present in particular, for the first time in public, the OTT streaming platform they have developed to make theatre available on the digital space, and foster new ways of making and seeing theatre.
