From 7 to 16 October 2022
VIE Festival focuses on contemporary creation with the aim of intercepting new identities in the field of live performance. It takes place annually in different cities in the Emilia-Romagna Region and is organized by Emilia Romagna ERT / National Theatre.
The path of VIE 22 winds through the different approaches and styles of the contemporary scene, both Italian and international.

El elogio de la fisura
A celebration of beauty born from imperfection, is the first solo by Lorena Nogal, long-standing member of La Veronal.

Éléphant
An intimate choreography between movement and voice to share the question of how to keep hope in the face of the disappearance of things.

I AM (VR)
A dive into an immersive virtual world. A psychedelic journey, an incredible theatrical experience.

Il Ministero della Solitudine
A story that investigates loneliness. An original writing structured through flashes, encounters and accidents, as well as physical scores that drift towards dance.

Il Capitale
The Italian company Kepler-452 tell us the story of the encounter with a group of metalworkers in an occupied factory, together on stage.

Karnival
A lyric drama punctuated by a rhythmic score played live, a profound reflection on the role of the body on stage for a civil physical theatre.

Opening night
The stage space becomes the protagonist of a tribute to the world of theater masterfully staged by one of the most acclaimed European dance companies.

The Pixelated Revolution
Syria, 2011. On the street, under the eyes of the whole world, men who film their own death fall. Pictures of a revolution.

FORMA-SONATA
A video-sound installation in which video art and opera interact with each other, and reflect on the topic of climate, social and individual change.

ECLOGA XI
A new ‘encounter’ between Anagoor and the poetic word, that of Andrea Zanzotto, with whom they share suffering from devastation and tenacity in renewing the flame of arts only seemingly unheard.

Halepas
A contemporary musical tragedy, a post-pop visual and sound work based on the unknown story of “the Auguste Rodin of Greece”.

GLI ANNI
Revelation of the new Italian performance scene, Marco D’Agostin signs a generational biographical story entrusted to the talent of the dancer Marta Ciappina.

Imagine
A theatrical event, an artistic journey into the world of counterculture, a reflection on humanity signed by a great master of the scene.

Anagoor, which in just a few years has moved to the centre of attention of Italian and European theatre, has been attributed the Silver Lion for Theatre 2018 at Venice Biennale.

Rodrik Biersteker
Rodrik Biersteker (Netherlands, 1986) is an interdisciplinary artist who primarily uses video and interactive technologies in a theatrical context.

Argyro Chioti
Argyro Chioti was born in Athens and works as a director and actress between Greece and France. In 2005 she cofounded the VASISTAS theater group.

Marco D’Agostin
Marco D’Agostin is an Italian artist active in the fields of dance and performance, winner of the UBU award as best performer under 35.

Alessandro Ferroni
Alessandro Ferroni is author, sound designer and video-maker. He has directed the documentaries Hijos del Sol and In Zona Mia.

Susanne Kennedy
Susanne Kennedy (Germany, 1977) worked, in the last years, at Volksbühne Berlin and Münchner Kammerspiele.
